A number of people I work with tell me they plan to work in retirement. On the surface, it sounds like a good idea but there may be a catch.
In an article I read recently, the catch is that one out of five people would like to work but 15% can’t find a job and 23% say employers weren’t looking for retirees.
Health care issues were big too. 38% of retirees who would work couldn’t due to health concerns and 12% had to care for family members.
The upside is that we are all living longer and are likely to live longer than we think we are.
